This is why, we decided to pay a percentage of our turnover, more particularly to research on breast cancer. Breast cancer in France
Breast cancer is cancer most frequently in women. According to Public Santé France, 58,459 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in women in France in 2018. This number is constantly increasing, in particular due to the organized screening implemented since 2004. In 2018, the number of deaths Linked to the disease is estimated at 12,146. The mortality rate by breast cancer is constantly decreasing from 1990 to 2018 (-1.3% per year). This progress is based on recent therapeutic advances but also on the development of screening which, by promoting early diagnoses, makes it possible to cure more cases.
We have selected the Arc FoundationBecause it is recognized as a public utility and dedicated to 100 % looking for cancer. Thanks to the generosity of its donors and testors, it allocates every year to the order of 25 million euros to research projects with hope for patients. Its objective: to help cure 2 cancers out of 3 in 2025. Information on disease and research is at the heart of the social mission of the ARC Foundation. In the fight against illness, information plays an essential role in helping everyone reduce their risk of cancer, to face when cancer occurs, to live better during and after treatments or to accompany a loved one.
Actions throughout the year
Beyond our donation to the association, Obsidian really wishes to get involved in this cause. We are proud to be able to support women. We will communicate throughout the year on this subject and more. In October 2022, a sports event In Quimper, the city where our offices are located. It's about the Kemper’ose. The goal is to raise awareness about prevention of breast cancer, screening and the benefits of playing sports. Part of the profits will be donated to approved organizations to help in the management of women with cancer in Finistère.
