Obsidian Piercing Is Coming to Brest, May 29-30 at 1 Rue Jean Jaurès
Some milestones you never forget. For us, opening a studio in Brest is one of them. It's our fourth address, and in a way, it brings the story full circle: Obsidian Piercing was born in Quimper, a little over an hour's drive away. Watching the adventure travel up through Finistère to Brest is a moment we've been looking forward to.

An adventure that started in Quimper
Obsidian Piercing is, first and foremost, fifteen years of expertise in piercing. Fifteen years spent piercing, advising, and watching what works, and especially what doesn't. Because a piercing is never a small thing: it's a procedure that leaves a mark in the skin, and a piece of jewelry that lives in direct contact with the body, unlike most jewelry we wear. That's why how it's made, chosen and supported matters so much.
That's how we arrived at a simple conviction: piercing deserves a real home. A place that guides you, follows up, and takes its time, before the piercing, during, and long after. A place that respects the skin, the procedure and the decision. A place where quality comes before everything else.
This vision took root in Quimper, then grew into two other Breton cities. Brest is the fourth step, and the fact that it's happening once again in Finistère, on the land where Obsidian was born, means a great deal to us. In the coming months, Obsidian will be settling further afield, elsewhere in France. But opening this new studio a little over an hour from Quimper, on the very land where the adventure began, felt like the obvious thing to do before hitting the road.
The Obsidian idea: a trusted partner, not a counter
When you walk through the door of a studio to get pierced, plenty of questions come up. Which jewelry should you choose? What size? Does this piercing suit me, my anatomy? Is it possible on my ear? How long will it take to heal?
Our role is to take on all of that questioning for you. You don't need to be a piercing expert, that's our job. You tell us where you're at, what you want, what's holding you back. We guide you toward the choice that makes sense for you: suited to your anatomy, clearly explained, fitted with rigor, and followed up over time.
Internally, we call it accessible premium. Premium in the materials, the technique and the service. Accessible first through our prices, without ever compromising on quality. Accessible too through the spirit of the place: a space designed with passion, where we want everyone to feel like they belong, whatever their age, background or relationship to piercing. For us, premium should always feel comfortable.
Only biocompatible materials
Every piece of jewelry we sell is ASTM F-136 titanium, used in surgery, or solid 14k/18k gold. In practical terms, these materials are designed to stay in prolonged contact with the body without causing a reaction. Titanium's surface is ultra-smooth, which supports calm healing, and how well the body tolerates it is now the standard of the trade.
We've made the deliberate choice to work with only these two materials. A narrow focus, on purpose, in keeping with what a piercing really commits you to. Piercing jewelry, unlike most jewelry, is worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's with you while you sleep, in the shower, during sport, at the sea, every single day. That constant presence demands something particular, both in how it's made and how it's chosen. That's the spirit in which we select every piece you'll find in our studios, so it can stay with you for the long run, without changing, without aging badly.
More than 1,000 piercings a month
Today, Obsidian's teams pierce more than 1,000 people every month across our three studios. That's a number that says something concrete: our piercers see every anatomy, every project, every question, every single day. Our hygiene protocols are well-honed because they're in constant use. The advice you receive is grounded in daily practice, built up piercing after piercing.
That's also why we love what we do so much. We meet a lot of people. We see all kinds of projects, from a very first lobe piercing to an ear composed over several years. Every piercing is different, and so is every conversation. That's probably the part of the job we love most: that moment, in the studio, when you get to know the person in front of you.
